The Riley-Ave LMP3 contender is due to hit the test track for the first time next month.
The first of the new Nissan-powered Riley-Ave AR-2s, which will be produced by Ave Motorsports to a design by Riley Technologies, is nearing completion at Riley’s North Carolina headquarters.
Riley Tech boss Bill Riley told AUTOSPORT: “We have the first tub, and the suspension and bodywork are starting to show up. We are putting it together now and will be testing soon, hopefully in October.”
He explained that it “made sense” to assemble the first car at Riley Tech before production begins at the workshops of the nearby Ave organization.
Three cars have been sold so far, according to Riley, including one purchase by the boss of Ave, two-time Trans-Am champion Tony Ave.
The Riley-Ave will be the last of the four current P3 projects to make it onto the track after the Ginetta LMP3, the Ligier JSP3 and the ADESS 03.
