David Reynolds has signed with Erebus Motorsport for the 2016 V8 Supercar season to drive the team’s E63 AMG.
“Although I have had a terrific four years at PRA [Prodrive Racing Australia], I am looking forward to a positive change as the lead driver with Erebus,” said Reynolds, who currently sits third in the points.
“Together we have some amazing strengths that we need to harness. I know we can win together.”
Team Erebus Motorsport owner Betty Klimenko said that she is thrilled with the signing.
“David is an exciting driver that has proven himself to be a title threat this year,” Klimenko said. “As we embark on our fourth season we needed to sign a driver that’s capable of positioning our cars up the front and David has proven he is capable of doing that. I have known David for almost 10 years, and knew one day I would have him drive for me”.
Reynolds recently attracted headlines for using an offensive term to describe the all-female pairing of Simona de Silvestro and Renee Gracie at Bathurst. He was subsequently fined AUD$25,000 for the comments.
