Kyle Busch sweeps Saturday Bristol Cup practices

Kyle Busch was fastest in both Saturday practice sessions for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series at Bristol Motor Speedway with a lap of 128.563 mph in final practice.

Busch paced his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate, Daniel Suarez, who ran a lap of 128.262 mph. Kasey Kahne was third fastest at 128.253 mph, Chase Elliott was fourth fastest at 128.185 mph, and Jimmie Johnson was fifth fastest at 128.168 mph.

There was one incident during the session, which left Chris Buescher going to a backup car. Buescher got loose off Turn 4 and hit the wall with the right-rear quarterpanel of the No. 37 Chevrolet.

The session was also briefly halted for a passing rain shower.

The rest of the top 10 were Erik Jones sixth (128.168 mph), Clint Bowyer seventh (128.125 mph), Kevin Harvick eighth (127.980 mph), Martin Truex Jr. ninth (127.946 mph), and Dale Earnhardt Jr. 10th (127.801 mph).

Pole-sitter Kyle Larson was 26th fastest in his car, which was repaired after his accident in the morning session. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. was also able to get laps in his car, which was repaired after making heavy contact with the wall in the morning session. He was 30th fastest in final practice.

The Food City 500 is Sunday at 2 p.m. ET on FOX.
