Shank team set for ‘all-nighter’ after Legge crash

By

Katherine Legge was uninjured in a heavy crash that ended the third IMSA practice session at Road America. The bad news is repairs to the No. 93 Michael Shank Racing Acura NSX GT3 could take 24 hours or more.

With the start of the Continental Tire Road Race Showcase scheduled to start on Sunday around the time where the MSR team anticipates the finish to its fixes, the Ohio-based outfit could also find itself in a race against the clock.

“It’s tough,” Shank said. “Katherine had something happen coming out of Canada Corner, ran wide, hit the hard rumble strips, and [it] spit us out into the wall. We’re diagnosing what we need to do. We’re going to do everything we can to be in the race tomorrow. Thankfully Kat’s OK, which speaks to the integrity of the NSX. It will be an all-nighter.”
