Teenager Sting Ray Robb’s Juncos Racing Tatuus-Mazda MZR emerged with the fastest time overall preparing for the 2019 Indy Pro 2000 championship in a two-day Road to Indy Spring Training test, while rookie teammate Rasmus Lindh wound up fourth.

A total of 13 Indy Pro 2000 (formerly Pro Mazda) cars participated in five sessions spread over two days on the 2.21 mile, 14-turn Miami-Homestead Speedway road course. Robb, from Payette, Idaho, recorded a total of 109 laps and set the fastest time overall on the last lap of the final session, a 1m19.7509s.

The only other driver in the 19s was Canadian Parker Thompson (Abel Motorsports) who reeled off a 1m19.9506s in the third session.

“It’s been a very long off-season,” Robb said, “and the Juncos crew really had the car dialed in. [The guys have] worked incredibly hard, and we all have great expectations for the season!

“I am happy with the speed we had during the two-day test,” Lindh commented. “I learned a lot throughout this weekend and I like how we work as a team. The Juncos crew does an amazing job prepping the cars.”

Added team owner Ricardo Juncos: “I am very pleased with our [Indy Pro 2000 team] results at Homestead. The drivers and crew worked very well together and have already created a strong chemistry going into the race season.”

The season begins this weekend on the Streets of St. Petersburg, Fla., with Rounds 1 and 2 of the 2019 Indy Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires scheduled for March 9 and 10.
